From the beginning.

David “SDBoomin” King is a beat maker and music producer with a natural ear for music. A native of Mobile, Alabama, my life in music has been up and down, but my love for music has always been steady.

I grew up in an average middle class home with hard working parents and three siblings. My love for music began when I was around 8 years old and my older teenage brother Darion “Baggettz” King was already getting his feet wet rapping. Watching Baggettz create cool rap lyrics, encouraged me to start rapping. At age 12 I convinced my parents to purchase Fruity Loops and Pro Tools which allowed me to start writing and recording. Baggettz and I formed a rap duo called Dirty City Dawgs (“DCD”) and converted the outside shed into a studio where I spent most of my weekends and summers. After setting up the studio, we were able to link up with local artist (Lil’ Fuss, Clearance, 50/50 Entertainment, etc.) as well as convincing our other brother Eldrick “El-Dog” Davis to join us. We exerted a lot of time and energy trying to build the studio and eventually after back-and-forth trips to Atlanta, recording songs, handing out demos, and sending demos to major labels with no traction, we gave up on the dream. I decided to pursue my second passion for technology and Baggettz pursued the club promotion side of music.

Although I moved on to a successful career in Information Technology, the passion for music remained my first love. Through the years Baggettz and I would reminisce and talk about running it back. Tragedy struck in 2005 when my brother El’ Dog was killed in a car accident. Such a tragedy of this magnitude took a toll on me mentally. In February 2022, tragedy struck again when my brother Baggettz committed suicide. While this was totally devastating and unexpected and instead of allowing this tragedy to knock me down, I decided to pursue music again in memory of Baggettz. So, in January 2023, I purchased Fruity Loops, to explore the beat- making/producer side of the music industry. Through the first 6 months of 2023 I studied the ins and outs of the tool by watching videos of other producers and researching lessons on music theory. By July of 2023, after much self-convincing that the beats will never be perfect, I decided to release my first beat.

I linked up with Globalqtheartist in an effort to start working with up-and-coming artists by providing beats that best fit their lyrics. The beats are released under SDBoomin. The artist has an opportunity to receive a free beat, publicity, and hopefully royalty checks if their song(s) becomes a hit.
